Xiaomi is set to host a major launch event on February 28th in Barcelona, just ahead of Mobile World Congress. The spotlight will be on the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra, both of which are scheduled to make their global debut at the event and in India simultaneously. Beyond these flagship devices, Xiaomi is also gearing up to introduce two interesting accessories at the global event, the Xiaomi Tag and the UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000, expanding the lineup beyond smartphones and tablets.
Starting with the Xiaomi Tag, it’s a Bluetooth tracker to help users keep track of essentials such as keys, wallets, and luggage, like the Apple AirTag. With the launch of the Xiaomi Tag, the brand is stepping into the increasingly competitive Bluetooth tracker space dominated by products like the Apple AirTag.

One of its biggest highlights is cross-platform compatibility. Unlike the AirTag, which is primarily designed for Apple’s ecosystem, the Xiaomi Tag works with Apple’s Find My network for iOS users while also offering Android compatibility through the Xiaomi Home app. This broader support could make it appealing to households using mixed devices.
Weighing just 10g, the oval-shaped tracker features a minimalist white design and can be slipped into a wallet or attached to bags and keychains. A built-in speaker helps locate nearby items with an audible alert, while map-based tracking and “left behind” notifications assist when items are out of range. Xiaomi claims over one year of battery life, and the IP67 rating ensures resistance to dust and water for everyday durability. The company also highlights encrypted tracking data and privacy safeguards to prevent misuse.
The Xiaomi Tag has been launched at RM 79 (Rs 1,900 approx) for a single unit and RM 299 (Rs 7,000 approx) for a 4-pack, making it more affordable than the AirTag. For buyers, it makes sense if you want cross-platform flexibility and long battery life at a lower price point. However, those deeply invested in Apple’s ecosystem may still find tighter integration and ultra-wideband precision tracking on the AirTag more seamless.
Coming to the UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000, it’s claimed to measure just 6mm thick, positioning it among the slimmest magnetic wireless power banks currently available. It’s also fairly light at 98 grams, making it easy to snap onto the back of a compatible phone without adding too much bulk.
Unlike newer Qi2.2 portable chargers that support up to 25W wireless output, this model tops out at 15W wirelessly. However, it includes a USB-C port with up to 22.5W wired fast charging. There are no additional USB ports, but since it’s super slim and portable, the single-port setup feels like a reasonable trade-off rather than a major drawback. Inside, the power bank houses a 5,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which should be sufficient to deliver a full charge to many smartphones at least once, depending on capacity.
The UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000 is a strong contender for people who prioritise portability and convenience. Its incredibly slim 6 mm profile and light 98 g weight make it ideal for users who dislike bulky power banks and want a charger they can carry comfortably every day.
