It has only been a couple of days since NVIDIA took the wraps off the GeForce RTX Super graphics cards in India, and major OEMs selling gaming accessories have already announced the variants officially in India. The manufacturers that have announced their variants of the RTX Super cards in India are ASUS, Gigabyte and Zotac, with the likes of Galax and MSI also scheduled to launch their own variants in India over the next few days.
Beginning with ASUS, the Taiwanese electronics company has the most extensive offering in the Super range announced in India so far. The company has announced a total of 19 variants spanning across RTX 2060, RTX 2070 and RTX 2080 Super GPUs, with all of the cards falling under ROG Strix, Dual Evo, and Turbo Evo series of ASUS gaming products. The ROG Strix cards are the flagship of the offering, and use axial fan design with additional power efficiency and temperature optimisations along with controllable RGB LED lighting.
The Dual Evo series use standard dual-fan cooling, while the Turbo Evo offer blower-style fan control. While the pricing for the entire range is yet to be declared, the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8G Gaming is priced at Rs 36,500++, and the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2070 Super 8G Gaming is priced at Rs 48,500++. Prices for the GeForce RTX 2080 Super variants are yet to be disclosed.
Gigabyte, meanwhile, has disclosed a total of nine cards in the Super series, divided among Gigabyte Gaming, Aorus and Gigabyte Windforce series of GPUs. Of these, Gigabyte has only disclosed details about the Aorus GeForce RTX series cards, which includes all of the RTX 2060 Super, RTX 2070 Super and RTX 2080 Super GPUs. The key features of the Gigabyte Aorus lineup are triple-fan on-card cooling, RGB LED ring lighting, factory-set overclocking and a total of seven display output channels (3x HDMI, 3x DisplayPort and 1x USB-C VirtualLink). No prices have been announced by Gigabyte yet, but more details should be revealed within the coming week.
Like Gigabyte, Zotac too has announced a total of nine cards based on the Super GPUs, but in slightly differing configuration. The basic offering comes in the form of the Zotac GeForce RTX 2060 Super Mini, designed for standard cabinets and compact systems. Alongside its compact dimensions, the card gets a dual-fan setup and white LED lighting. The other two RTX 2060 Super cards are the GeForce RTX 2060 Super Amp and Super Amp Extreme, which come with two and three fans respectively. Both the cards feature full RGB customisable lighting on card, and the same feature differentiation also applies to the RTX 2070 Super and RTX 2080 GPUs as well.
In terms of prices, the RTX 2060 Super Mini is priced at Rs 35,590, RTX 2060 Super Amp at Rs 37,990 and RTX 2060 Super Amp Extreme at Rs 39,190, while the RTX 2070 cards are priced at Rs 43,790, Rs 45,890 and Rs 47,290 with the same differentiation of features. Prices for the RTX 2080 Super cards have not been revealed yet.
With the new card prices giving us an indication of the range at which these new GPUs can be expected, it is interesting to see which OEM ends up undercutting the others for a marketing advantage, given that the feature set of all the cards are largely similar. The new GeForce RTX Super GPUs are expected to release and go on sale in India from July 9th, while the RTX 2080 cards will likely go on sale from July 23rd. The new RTX GeForce cards will come with a larger GPU, which in turn offers significantly higher execution cores. As a result, the setup will provide higher performance, while largely retaining the power consumption figures.
In fact, in what was a surprise move, the prices for the RTX Super GPUs have been marked at a lesser point than what the RTX 2060, RTX 2070, and RTX 2080 series were unveiled. On top of previous features, the new Super GPUs bring advantages such real-time ray tracing, even as AMD take aim at NVIDIA's prowess with its own, third-generation Navi GPUs. With AMD likely to play the pricing card, NVIDIA also appears to be gearing up to take on a price challenge, even in the top tier GPUs.
