Linda Blair has shared that she thourougly enjoyed making this film. She added that she experienced a lot of stress making The Exorcist (1973) and appreciated getting the opportunity to spoof it.
In the Exorcist, Linda Blair played a girl named Reagan. In this movie her name is Nancy, a reference to First Lady Nancy Reagan.
Near the end when Father Luke asks Satan "Where do you think you're going?" Satan replies "I'm going to Disneyland!" This refers to ads that Disney ran starting in 1987 during the Super Bowl, where athletes would be asked "What will you do with your victory?" they would always reply, "I'm going to Disneyland!"
