Apple’s new iPads are expected to debut at its May 7th event. The iPhone maker hasn’t revealed anything like always but several reports point towards new and refreshed iPads. There have been multiple leaks already with the iPad Pro getting a major overhaul this year. The biggest upgrade would be OLED displays on the iPad Pro lineup, and a new report says that it will be the best OLED tablet panels.

iPad Pro 2024 to feature best OLED panels

  • The OLED panels on the 2024 iPad Pro lineup are said to be the best ones in the market, according to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC).
  • The new iPad Pros are also said to come with an LTPO panel and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be available in two sizes 11.1-inch and 12.9-inch. 
  • Young adds that these OLED panels will come with a “tandem stack and glass thinning resulting in ultra-thin and light displays with high brightness, extended battery life and long lifetime.”

With the usage of OLED panels, the iPad Pros are said to be slimmer and have slimmer bezels. The 2024 iPad Pro models are also tipped to feature a landscape-oriented Face ID camera. Apple is also reportedly debuting its in-house M4 chip with the latest iPad Pros. This would also mark the debut of the new M4 chipset, reportedly infused with AI. So we can except some AI-focused features on the 2024 iPad Pro lineup. 

Alongside the iPad Pros, we might see a 12.9-inch iPad Air for the first time. This would be the biggest iPad Air yet. It’s also tipped to feature the Touch ID button on top with the speaker grilles located on the top and bottom as well. 

Apple is also rumoured to launch a new Apple Pencil with features such as squeeze detection and built-in haptic feedback. We might also see a new Magic Keyboard at the May 7th event.
