OnePlus is prepping a new Nord-series phone, internally called OnePlus Ivan. We recently speculated that the phone will debut as the OnePlus Nord 2 CE and we also revealed key specifications. Now, tipster Yogesh Brar tells us that the phone will indeed be called OnePlus Nord 2 CE and we have learned about its launch timeline as well. The OnePlus Nord 2 CE will come as a successor to the OnePlus Nord CE, so you can expect a price tag of around Rs 28,000. The phone had already received BIS certification in India, which was the first hint at an imminent launch.

OnePlus Nord 2 CE launch timeline

According to Yogesh Brar, OnePlus Nord 2 CE will launch in India in Q1 2022. The handset will be released in European markets as well.

The handset will come with a triple card slot to accommodate dual nano SIMs and a microSD card, which is an improvement considering the Nord CE did not with a microSD card slot.

OnePlus Nord 2 CE specifications

OnePlus Nord 2 CE aka OnePlus Ivan is said to sport a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G processor with up to 8/12GB RAM and 256GB storage that will be expandable. The phone is likely to boot Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 custom skin out of the box.

Moving to cameras, the OnePlus Nord 2 CE phone will feature a triple camera setup on the back, with a 64MP primary OmniVision sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro lens. There is a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies and video calls. It packs a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support.

While the design is still under wraps, it is said to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. However, the phone is tipped to lack the alert slider, which is a bummer. The handset will have stereo speakers, a 3.5mm audio jack, Corning Gorilla Glass protecting the display and rear panel, a punch-hole cutout, and a plastic frame.
