According to Insider Gaming, PS5 Pro has a tentative release date of late 2024. When it comes to specs and upgrades over PS5, it’s unclear what PS5 Pro would feature. Based on the report, PlayStation architect Mark Cerny has recently published a patent, which suggests Sony is “looking to accelerate ray tracing performance” in games. You can also expect PS5 Pro to deliver better visuals and performance compared to the standard PS5. Besides these, Insider Gaming also claims that PS6 will not launch at least until 2028.

While details regarding PS5 Pro are limited, electronics company TCL had previously shared some information about the console during a press event. The company had said that PS5 Pro will offer up to 120 FPS gameplay at 2160p resolution and it could also play games in 8K. It had also claimed that the new PS5 Pro chip may be equivalent to AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT GPU. Besides these, some reports suggest that PS5 Pro’s performance could be much better than the PS5. It may also feature advanced ray-tracing, rendering techniques, and reconstruction techniques. If PS5 Pro is launching next year, we may start seeing some marketing and promotional material in early 2024.
