What a larger display could mean on the iPhone 16 Pro
Word on the apparent new display size of the iPhone 16 Pro lineup comes to Macrumors through Ross Young, the cofounder and chief executive of Display Supply Chain Consultants, who has previously reported details on Apple’s upcoming display technologies accurately. According to Young, the exact display sizes will be marginally different from the 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch sizes that have been reported, and the exact two decimal places of the new displays on next year’s iPhones will be revealed at Display Week in Los Angeles on May 23rd.
However, it is pretty much certain that this year’s iPhone 15 lineup will not feature any changes to the display sizes. Young, via Macrumors, also did not mention if the new display sizes will be seen on next year’s iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, too. More details on the matter will likely surface as the months pass by.
This year’s iPhone 15 series is expected to feature a new, larger image sensor, and is also speculated to use a telephoto camera on its rear. Other details include narrower bezels than expected, and while a set of rumours had teased pressure-sensitive solid state buttons instead of the standard ones, this has now been pulled back owing to the cost of manufacturing.
