Apple is expected to launch two new AirPods later this year. The new AirPods will reportedly come with updated designs, redesigned cases and USB-C charging as well. Joining the new AirPods could be a new AirPods Max headset as well. It looks like Apple is on track to launch the new AirPods later this year, according to a new report.
New AirPods, AirPods Max coming this year
- In his latest newsletter PowerOn, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman confirmed that the new AirPods and AirPods Max are still on schedule to launch this year.
- There’s no specific launch timeline mentioned for the launch but it’s expected to take place late this year.
- Gurman had already detailed the new AirPods in a previous report. The two new AirPods will be part of the AirPods 4th gen series. The more expensive model will feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), making it a first in the non-Pro series of AirPods. The non-Pro AirPods will also be getting an update after more than two years.
- The new AirPods will reportedly come with updated designs, redesigned cases and USB-C charging as well.
- Apple’s headphones AirPods Max is also set to get an update along with the AirPods. But the only upgrades mentioned so far are USB-C and new colours. Apple launched the AirPods Max in Green, Pink, Silver, Sky Blue, and Space Grey colours.
- The AirPods Max will also be getting an update after four years as the first-gen model launched back in 2020.

As for the AirPods Pro lineup, Apple is reportedly planning an upgrade for2025. The design hasn’t been finalised yet, and this time the focus is said to be on comfort. Other features such as body-temperature measurement and health tracking are also expected to arrive on the next-gen AirPods Pro.
