Apple Vision Pro 2 launch timeline (expected)

  • Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggests the Apple Vision Pro 2 launch is at least 18 months away.
  • This would put the possible timeline for the second-gen Vision Pro around August 2025.  But considering Apple’s strict product launch timelines, we might just see the Vision Pro 2 at WWDC 2025 or even with the iPhone 17 lineup next year. That’s going to be a long wait for anyone waiting to get their hands on the Apple Vision Pro 2.
  • This information was shared in Gurman’s Power On newsletter, where he mainly talked about how Apple’s loyal customers are returning the Vision Pro.

The Vision Pro is a hefty device with an even heftier price tag of $3,499 (around Rs 2,90,680). This is only for the base model with 256GB onboard storage. This is Apple’s first mixed reality headset so there would be certain limitations, and it’s expected to serve as a learning ground for the next-gen model.

Meta CEO Zuckerberg also had a lot to say about the Vision Pro by comparing to the Quest 3. Zuck is of the opinion that the Quest Quest 3 is “not just a better value product, but it is a better product, period.” He lists several key areas where the Vision Pro is much better, and adding to that is its affordable price tag that’s $3,000 cheaper than Apple’s headset.

Apple hasn’t announced global availability for the Vision Pro yet but it’s reportedly going on sale before WWDC 2024. There are talks about a more affordable Vision Pro as well but it’s still under heavy speculation.
