Apple has today launched the Apple Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 at the Wonderlust event. With the new watches, Apple has focused on performance this time. The upgrades include a new optical heart rate sensor, new ultrawide-band chip, and a faster chipset, and lots of recycled material.

The Apple Watch Series 9 starts at Rs 41,900 in India.
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 price in India is Rs 89,900 for the single 49mm size.
You can order the Apple Watch Series 9 globally including India starting today, and it will be available in stores from September 22nd onwards.
The Apple Watch Series 9 comes in five colour options including a new Pink, Starlight, Silver, Midnight, and PRODUCT(RED). The stainless steel model comes in Silver, Gold, and Graphite colours. Apple says it used recycled aluminium, gold, tin and copper for the Watch Series 9. It also used recycled cobalt in the Watch Series 9's battery for the first time. The Watch Series 9 is also Apple's first-ever carbon neutral product.
Apple Watch Series 9, Watch Ultra 2: specifications, features
Apple Watch Series 9 comes in two sizes of 41mm and 45mm. The Watch Ultra 2 comes in a single 49mm size.
On the Watch Series 9, the display is 2000 nits, and 3000 nits on the Watch Ultra 2, which is the brightest for any Apple product yet. The brightness on the Ultra 2 can go down to 1 nit.
Both the Apple Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 are powered by the S9 chipset based on the A15 Bionic.
Both the watches run on watchOS 10 which comes with new watch faces and redesigned apps.
One new and interesting feature on the Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 is 'Double Tap'. You essentially double tap your index finger on your thumb to perform tasks like accepting and ending calls, and scrolling through widgets, snoozing alarms and more.

Apple has also equipped the watches with the new U2 ultrawide-band chip that improves Find My capabilities. The same chip is used in the iPhone 15 series as well.
Apple says the Watch Series 9 comes with an 18-hour battery life.
