Apple Watch X

The Apple Watch X will be a major upgrade for the company’s wearable lineup but its launch will take place late 2024 or it could be pushed to 2025 too, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. This device is also going to be commemorative of the Apple Watch’s 10th anniversary.

Here are the upgrades planned for the Apple Watch X as per Gurman:

  • Apple is planning a thinner watch case design for the Watch X. This is also being planned along with a new magnetic band attachment system.
  • With the present design, you can attach and detach bands by sliding on the sides of the watch case. But this is said to take up space that can otherwise be used for a bigger battery or other components.
  • The new magnetic band attachment system for the Apple Watch X will make way for a thinner design.
  • Apple is also reportedly planning to use a more colourful microLED display for the Watch X.
  • Lastly, the Apple Watch X will possibly, and finally feature the blood pressure monitor that has been rumoured for quite some time.

These are major upgrades planned for the Apple Watch X but we’re going to have to wait for more than a year going by the latest prediction. As for the Apple Watches that we would be seeing soon, Gurman says it’s going to be “the most minor upgrade in the product’s history.” He adds that if you’ve purchased the Apple Watch Ultra then you’ll most likely skip this one.

The Apple Watch Series 9 is said to launch in the same sizes which would be 41 and 45 millimeters, and 49 millimeters for the Ultra model. The only major upgrades for the Watch Series are said to be faster processors and new colours.
