Realme GT 6 India launch teased

Realme founder and CEO, Sky Li shared a press note in which he prides the company has sold 100 million (10 crore) smartphones in India in the last five years. With 17.4 million sales last year, Realme has thus gained a spot among the top 5 smartphone brands in the country.

Then, he reveals the return of the GT lineup, likely called the GT 6 lineup. He adds these GT phones will be coming in the mid-premium segment, “delivering flagship-level performance”.

But the press note doesn’t divulge any details about the phones, per se. So, let’s rely on the rumour mill.

Realme GT 6 specifications (expected)

Based on rumours and listings on certification and benchmark sites, here’s what we think the phone will sport:

  • Processor: As per the Geekbench listing, the GT 6 could be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC.
  • Memory: At least one of the models could have 16GB RAM.
  • Software: We are expecting Android 14-based Realme UI 5.0.
  • Battery: As per an FCC listing, the phone will bear a 5,500mAh battery (2,680mAh dual-cell) with 120W SuperVOOC fast charging.
  • Cameras: Its main camera could be a 50MP sensor as per the Camera FV-5 listing.

The phone appears to have the model number RMX3851. This was something revealed on the Indonesia Telecom website.

There is also a rumour of GT 6 being a rebranded GT Neo 6 that’s set to launch in China tomorrow (May 9th). That phone is also confirmed to feature an IP65 dust and water resistance rating. So, let’s wait and see if the GT 6 brings the same set of features.
