Ather has teased the upcoming affordable Ather 450S electric scooter yet again, which is launching in India August 3rd this year. Pre-bookings for the budget-friendly alternative to the Ather 450X commenced yesterday.
Only the practical features for the affordable Ather 450S
Ather had earlier announced that the upcoming Ather 450S will command a price tag of Rs 1,29,999 (ex-showroom). This is substantially lower than the Ather 450X flagship offering which is priced at Rs 1.48 lakh (ex-showroom). The Ather 450S will compete with the likes of the upcoming Ola S1 Air and the TVS iQube.
The Ather 450S is expected to carry forward a similar design language as its more expensive stablemate. In terms of features, the Ather 450S will forgo the TFT touchscreen in favour of a digital LCD but will retain its Bluetooth connectivity feature.
Another major change that is expected is going to come in the form of a smaller battery pack and possibly even a less powerful motor. This revised powertrain claims to deliver a range of 115km per charge. In comparison, the 450X returns 145km of range per charge. However, the top speed according to Ather is still 90kmph on the Ather 450S, which is the same as its higher-priced sibling.
