- Bixby text call is now available for select Samsung phones in India.

Samsung launched ‘Bixby Text Call’ in English earlier this year. This feature is now available in India for select Samsung smartphones. As the name suggests, Bixby Text Call lets you use Bixby’s automated voice to answer and respond calls. Samsung had launched this first in Korean but it’s now available in English, and in more countries.
Bixby Text Call
If you have Bixby text call set up then you can select this whenever you get an incoming call. Bixby will answer saying that it’s talking on your behalf and ask their reason for calling. You can then choose from the options of quick responses available or you can type with the keyboard. Bixby will then read out the response to the caller. You can read through the conversations as well.
Bixby text call is available on these phones:
- Galaxy Fold 5, Flip 5, Fold 4, Flip 4, Fold 3, Flip 3, Fold 2, Flip, Flip 5G, Fold 5G
- Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, S22, S22+, S22 Ultra, S21, S21+, S21 Ultra, S20, S20+, S20 Ultra, S20 FE
- Galaxy A34, A54, A52s 5G, A82 5G, A53 5G, A33 5G, A71 5G, A51 5G
- Galaxy Note 20/ Note 20+
If you have any of these phones, you can set up Bixby text call.
- Go to Phone > More Options (three dot) > Settings > Bixby text call.
- Once you’ve turned the feature on, you can customise its voice, and add new quick responses or edit existing ones.
How to use Bixby text call
You’ll see the Bixby text call on incoming calls, and you can tap on it to use the feature. A new screen will appear where you have to swipe up on the green coloured icon to initiate Bixby text call. As mentioned above, Bixby will inform the caller that you’re using an automated voice, and ask the caller who they are and also why they’re calling.
Once the conversation begins you’ll see it transcribed on the screen. You can choose a quick response or write your own. You can also choose to stop using Bixby and switch to a normal call by tapping on the voice call option on top of the screen.
