Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 campaign mode details

The single-player campaign mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will continue the story of Captain Price and Task Force 141. This time around, players will have to take on the threat of the ultranationalist, Vladimir Makarov, who was teased at the end of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.

This time around, players get a more sandbox style of gameplay wherein players get to choose different load-outs and plan different paths through every operation in the campaign. These are called “Open Combat Missions’ and are designed to give players greater choice. Aside from choosing a preferred loadout, players are also free to take advantage of any operable vehicles in the area. This, combined with the large map size should allow players to approach mission objectives as they see fit.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer mode details

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III marks the 20th anniversary of Call of Duty and will include a collection of the best multiplayer maps from the series. All 16 maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will be available in a modernised version with updated graphics. Aside from classic game modes, new modes such as Cutthroat (3v3v3) should allow for a new experience for veteran players.

The 16 core maps are further complemented by four large-scale environments with multiple new play spaces. Then there is the single massive War map that will be used to host War Mode, which debuted in 2017’s Call of Duty: WWII.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 gameplay changes

A key new addition is ‘Tac-Stance’. This marks a middle ground between hip fire and aiming down sights and offers a middle ground between mobility and accuracy.

The Create-a-Class feature will now offer improved customisation options. Players will now build their loadout based on military helmets, gloves, tactical vests, boots, and more.

Speaking of customisation, the Gunsmith feature also gets updated with the addition of After-Market Parts. This is a special set of customisation that allows players to focus on preferred and specific playstyles. After-Market Parts let players construct unique weapon configurations or types and will offer new progression paths, and challenges to unlock.

Aside from this, the game will also see the return of Call of Duty Zombies with the largest map ever. The game mode will now expect players to team up with other squads to survive and fight massive zombie hordes. Players will also undertake missions across the different regions ad these missions will escalate in difficulty over time
