Dyson, the British brand known for its air purifiers has launched a one-of-a-kind Dyson Zone headphones in India that also comes with a built-in air purifying visor. This visor is removable so, you can use the headphones standalone. The headphones boast a 50-hour playback and “scientific sound precision”. Dyson Zone: What does it mean by scientific sound precision?
Unlike the general ‘golden listener’ approach by other headphone makers, Dyson is using sound reproduction measures like left-right balance, total harmonic distortion and frequency response to evaluate the sound quality. This is claimed to be further verified with the results of extensive user testing.
Dyson Zone: Air purifying mask
One of the head-turning features of the Dyson Zone noise-cancelling headphones is a removable visor that releases clean air to your mouth and nose. It also does air cleansing. Here’s how that air purifying part works:
The earcups on both sides have compressors that take in air and clean this air using built-in double-layer filters. There is an Electrostatic filter that removes up to 0.1 microns of small particles and an activated Carbon filter that traps nitrogen dioxide and other harmful gases in the air.
The purified air is finally projected in two streams at your nose and mouth. There is no contact between you and the visor for hygienic reasons.
