The sub-Rs 10,000 category is still missing affordable 5G phones but we might soon get one from itel. The Transsion Holdings sub-brand is planning to launch a 5G phone under Rs 10,000 in India.
itel P55 5G phone India launch
- The smartphone in question, is the itel P55 5G that is slated to launch just in time for the festive season. The exact price isn’t known but it’s confirmed to cost under Rs 10,000, according to industry sources.
- This would make the itel P55 5G the cheapest 5G smartphone in India, costing under Rs 10,000. itel is scheduled to launch the 5G smartphone in India end of September.
- It’s also worth noting that this will be the first 5G phone from itel. The brand’s CEO Arijeet Talapatra had already hinted at the launch of a 5G smartphone in 2023.
- itel is known for its entry-level smartphones priced mostly under Rs 8,000. It also offers a budget tablet priced at Rs 12,999. With the itel P55 5G, the brand will be offering an affordable 5G phone for consumers in India.
Based on the teaser image shared, the itel P55 5G will feature dual rear cameras aligned vertically. The phone appears to have curved edges with the power button and volume keys on the right. More details on the itel P55 5G are expected to be revealed soon with only a few days to go for the launch.
itel recently launched the P40+ and A60s budget phones in India recently. The itel P40+ is priced at Rs 8,099, while the itel A60s costs Rs 6,299. The two phones offer quite a lot for its affordable price tag. The itel P40+ comes with a 90Hz display, a 13MP primary camera, and a 7,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. This phone is also touted as the first under Rs 9,000 to offer a 7,000mAh battery.
The entry-level itel A60s offers an HD+ display, 4GB RAM, and an 8MP primary camera. It also packs a 5,000mAh with 10W fast charging support. The smartphone also comes with up to 128GB of onboard storage, and 4GB of virtual RAM.
