Samsung could go back to square-shaped design for future Galaxy watches: report
Future Samsung smartwatches to feature square design
- Samsung is discussing internally to change the design of its smartwatches to a more squarish form factor, according to a report by Sam Mobile. This change in design is also "very much on the cards" so we might just start seeing squarish Galaxy watches soon.
- Samsung has so far launched circular Galaxy watches except for the first few models. The Galaxy Gear, Gear 2 and Gear Live came with squarish designs as opposed to the current circular style.
- It's going to be an interesting shift though for Samsung as it has for a long time stuck to the circular design. There might be a comparison made with the Apple Watch too, which has a square design.
There's no word yet on when the new square Galaxy watches will debut. Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch 6 series last year alongside its new foldables. The new Galaxy Watch 7 series is expected to debut later this year at the next Galaxy Unpacked event. If we are indeed getting a new design, then we should start seeing renders soon.
Samsung also upgraded its fitness band this time with the Galaxy Fit 3. This fitness band now looks more like a smartwatch with its bigger 1.6-inch display. It also comes with up to 13 days of battery life, various health modes, a 5ATM rating and IP68 for dust and water resistance.
