We’re still months away from the launch of the Galaxy S25 family, but that isn’t stopping leaks from revealing key details about the Galaxy S25 family members here and there. The latest one suggests major camera upgrades that we expect from the S25 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra may feature a tele-camera after all!

  • According to Ice Universe, Samsung still plans to ship the Galaxy S25 Ultra with a quad-camera setup, just like the Galaxy S24 Ultra before that, and Galaxy S23 Ultra before that.
  • Not only did the leaker claim to be sure that the 3x module would not disappear, but they also suggested that an upgrade is very much possible.
  • Since the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s debut, the 10MP 3x camera has remained largely unchanged. The precise focal length (67 or 70mm) and sensor size have varied slightly, but not much. Similarly, nothing has changed with the 12MP 120° ultra wide camera since the S20 Ultra.
  • However, the primary camera has undergone multiple changes, from the 108MP HM1 sensor of the S20 Ultra to the 108MP HM3 of the S21 and S22 Ultra to the 200MP HP2 of the S23 and S24 Ultra.
  • Previously, word on the internet suggested that the 200MP main sensor would make up for ditching the tele shooter for short-range zoom snaps.
  • Rumours suggest that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will use the same HP2 sensor as its predecessor but with additional enhancements to capture more light. This enhancement led many to believe that Samsung would get rid of the 3x tele-camera.
  • Moreover, another reliable tipster, Revegnus on Twitter/X, also claims that the S25 Ulta will house four cameras.
  • However, leaker BennettBuhner says that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will only have three cameras rather than four.

We’re still far away from the expected January launch window for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Since the launch is still months away, Samsung’s plan for the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s camera setup can drastically change—for better or worse. So, we recommend you take these tips with a pinch of salt.
