Tata Play (formerly Tata Sky) has launched the Google Nest Cam (battery) in India and will cater to buyers looking for home and small office surveillance applications. The Google Nest Cam (battery) will also utilise Tata Play’s satellite-based platform to provide a seamless user experience. Work has been put in to enhance alerts, video quality, management via the Google Home app and improved construction.
Google Nest Cam (battery) price in India, availability
The Google Nest Cam (battery) is priced at Rs 11,999 and will be available on the Tata Play website from June 23rd onwards and will come in a single Snow colour option.
The Google Nest Cam (battery) will work in tandem with Tata Play and packages for the same have been elaborated as well. Tata Play Secure+ will form a bundled service that will include the Nest Cam and the annual Nest Aware subscription. The package includes Familiar Face Detection and 30/60 day event video history.
It will be available for all Tata Play subscribers in Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Delhi + NCR, Lucknow, and Jaipur.

Google Nest Cam (battery) features
The Google Nest Cam (battery) comes with interesting updates that enhance the overall user experience of the product. The new Nest Cam features a rechargeable battery that allows easy installation inside or outside home. Improved detection allows for accurate alerts and now functions with three types of objects – person, vehicle and animals. Activity Zones and 3 hours of event video history is provided out of the box.
The video quality has also been improved and now features 1080p video footage with HDR and night vision. The controls via the Google Home app have also been improved and allows better integration. One can easily surf through 3 hours of event video footage and can filter events by type. The Two-way talk feature allows listening and speaking abilities on the go.
The video feed is processed on-device to aid privacy and security and the linked Google account adds another layer of protection thanks to the two-factor authentication. LED status light is built in to alert when the camera is recording and one can even set Home and Away Routines to customise time slots for the camera to record. Google has worked on the design of the new Nest Cam (battery) as well such that it blends well with both indoor and outdoor applications. The construction of the camera utilises 47 percent post-consumer recycled plastic parts and is durable enough to sustain strong winds, rain and snow.

The Google Nest Cam (battery) houses a 1/2.8-inch 2MP sensor with a 130 degree field of view. The camera shoots in 16:9 aspect ratio and allows up to 6x digital zoom. The video feed records footage in real time at 1080p (30fps) and supports HDR and Night Vision.
In terms of connectivity the Nest Cam gets dual band Wi-Fi support and low energy Bluetooth. On the inside, there is a 6 Ah, 3.65V lithium-ion battery. The product includes a 3.3 ft (1 m) indoor rated charging cable and a 7.5W USB-A power adapter. Weather-proof cables 5m and 10m long are sold separately. The camera operates at temperatures between -20 degree Celsius to 40 degree Celsius.
The security suite on the Nest Cam includes an 128-bit AES encryption with TLS/SSL and a a built-in magnetometer sensor. The camera also features a high-quality speaker and microphone and a full-duplex 2-way audio with noise cancellation. The entire packaging is IP54 certified and supports connectivity to Android and iOS.
