Google Pixel Tablet 2 reportedly in development, codenames leaked

Now, rumours have started floating around that the Mountain View giant is working on a potential successor. The latest Android beta release includes two codenames, hinting at the development of the next-generation Pixel Tablet.

Pixel Tablet 2 might be in the works

References to the Pixel Tablet 2 were spotted in the first beta of Android 14 QPR3 for Pixel phones, as spotted by 9to5Google.
The report says that the code includes two new entries: "Clementine" and "Kiyomi".
These codenames were never spotted in the beta. This could suggest that Google might be working on Pixel Tablet 2.

The first Pixel Tablet had "Tangor" and "Tangorpro" when they were in development.
Tangor is a hybrid fruit that combines a sweet orange with another citrus fruit.
"Clementine" and "Kiyomi" codenames of the possible Pixel Tablet 2 are examples of Tangors.

Similarly, there were two codenames for the Pixel Tablet's bundled charging dock: "Korlan" and "Yuzu." Google released only one dock while the second dock that was intended to offer only a charging function was never released. Since the company hasn't mentioned any details about the development of the Pixel Tablet 2, these are all just rumours for now and we suggest you deal them with a pinch of salt.
