HDM Global will reportedly launch own-branded smartphones in India by April 2024 and a few leaks in recent times have revealed quite a bit about the first phone in the series. • The publication claims the render is taken from the official website and also shared the URL of the page but now it shows a 404 error.

  • The render shows a woman sitting over a Cyan-coloured HMD Global phone.
  • We see a rectangular module on the back, with two circular rings similar to the renders shared exclusively by 91mobiles.
  • What caught our attention was the 108MP OIS camera text engraved on the back.
  • The render appears to be a part of the promotional material and might have leaked much ahead of the plan.

In a separate leak, last week tipster Evan Blass shared codenames for the first batch of HMD-branded phones on X and these are Pulse, Legend, Pulse+, Legend Plus, Pulse Pro, and Legend Pro. So, the phone in the leaked render may bear one of the codenames. HMD Global will target budget and mid-range phones and offer a stock Android experience out of the box.

Ravi Kunwar, HMD Global Vice President of India and APAC, mentioned that India will be a priority for HMD Global. The top executive clarified that all phones will be manufactured in India. HMD Global is expected to launch a few phones in the first half of 2024. Kunwar noted that both HMD Global and Nokia phones will co-exist and will target different sections of the audience.
