The Always-On Display on the iPhone 14 Pro is different from Android. It dims the display while maintaining full visibility of the background and all other widgets on the screen, compared to Android phones, which often adopt a more minimalist style and display notification icons on a black background.
Apple now provides the ability to deactivate the AOD background with the most recent iOS beta version. Additionally, you can disable notifications if you want to make using AOD even more minimalistic. This should be a welcome move because many users have complained about Apple’s complicated AOD since its first release.
Besides this, Apple also refreshes Apple Music’s play and shuffle buttons by adding extra pop and translucence. These translucent buttons can reflect the backdrop colours of featured album art.
These features are currently only available in OS 16.2 beta. You can sign up for Developer Program, but you’ll have to pay the membership fee. In case you want to enrol in the beta, proceed with caution–there are bugs, and make a backup of your data. You can also wait for the stable version’s release to avoid entering the beta.
