iPhone 15 battery cycle count
Apple is now showing the official battery cycle count on the iPhone 15 series. This can be found by going to Settings > General > About > Battery. This is a new section so you’ll have to scroll down to find it in the About section. Here, it will show you the iPhone 15’s battery cycle, manufacture date, and when it was first used.
One charge cycle basically equates to using 100 percent of the iPhone’s battery. But this isn’t counted for the iPhone’s battery getting depleted at once but collectively from multiple uses. “For instance, you might use 75 percent of your battery’s capacity one day, then recharge it fully overnight. If you use 25 percent the next day, you will have discharged a total of 100 percent, and the two days will add up to one charge cycle,” Apple explained in its battery information page.
So once you complete using 100 percent of the iPhone’s battery, one charge cycle will be completed. It can also take several days for one charge cycle or two days depending on how much you used, and when you charged the iPhone. With information on the iPhone 15’s battery cycles, this would help users be aware and more careful with charging their devices.
iPhone 15 battery charging capped at 80 percent
Another feature that will actually help prolong the iPhone 15’s battery life is stopping charging at 80 percent. This is a new addition to ‘Optimised Battery Charging’ where the iPhone pauses charging at 80 percent, and gradually charges to reach 100 percent later on. So now iPhone 15 users have the option to select 80 percent that will force stop charging when the battery level reaches that mark.
