Apple is already swift in rolling out regular and timely software updates even on older iPhones. With the new system, it will be able to ensure that any bug or issue is fixed even at the time of purchasing an iPhone. While Apple does ship iPhones with the new iOS update, any future update is missed out.
The iPhone 15 series, for example, shipped with iOS 17 out-of-the-box. But Apple had already released iOS 17.0.1 by the time the iPhone 15 went on sale. In certain situations, customers might not update their iPhones to latest software update. And these updates are critical for bugs or any issues that usually occur whenever there's a new update.
Another situation is certain iPhone 15 models unable to transfer data from an old iPhone. A software update was required to fix this bug but this wasn't possible without setting up the iPhone. With the new system, Apple will be able to prevent such situations from taking place.
