iQOO Neo 8 spotted on Geekbench ahead of May 23rd launch, key specs confirmed

iQOO Neo 8 series is set to launch in China on May 23rd. Speculations are rife that there could be two models in the series, the iQOO Neo 8 and iQOO Neo 8 Pro. The company already confirmed the latter would arrive with the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+. Now, ahead of the launch, the vanilla iQOO Neo 8 has appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform. Separately, in new teaser images, iQOO has confirmed the Neo 8 series will come with a dedicated V1+ chip that will aid with AI tasks and better photography as well. This is the first time that iQOO’s custom ship is making its way to the Neo series. Additionally, the phone will have 144Hz refresh rate support as well.

iQOO Neo 8 Geekbench

The Geekbench listing, as spotted by MySmartPrice, shows the iQOO Neo 8 has managed to score 1678 in the single-core round and 4345 points in the multi-core segment.
The motherboard section of the listing mentions Qualcomm ‘taro’, which could be associated with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1/Snapdragon 8+ Gen1.
The chipset will have a peak clock speed of 3.0GHz for the prime core, followed by three performance cores clocked at 2.5GHz and four efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz.
The iQOO Neo 8 packs 16GB RAM, but there could be 8GB/12GB RAM models at launch.
The phone boots Android 13 OS out of the box, which could be skinned with OriginOS 3 custom skin out of the box.

Display: The iQOO Neo 8 Pro is said to feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole cutout.
Processor: The Pro model is confirmed to be powered by the new Dimensity 9200+ processor. While the vanilla model is expected to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1.
RAM and Storage: The iQOO Neo 8 series is tipped to pack up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB storage.
OS: The upcoming iQOO phones are expected to boot the latest Android 13 OS out of the box.
Cameras: As for the cameras, the iQOO Neo 8 series is expected to feature a 50MP triple-camera setup on the back but the details regarding the rest of the sensors are unknown at the moment. There will be a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies.
Battery: The phones are tipped to feature a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support over a USB Type-C charging port.
