“Jio is also offering Rs 99 worth of additional data on the first seven recharges that the user purchases”
Thanks to its super affordable pricing of Rs 1,500 and 4G LTE connectivity, Jio Phone has revolutionised the feature phone segment in India. The telecom giant had dropped the Ji Phone price in India to as low as Rs 699 recently as a part of a Diwali offer. Though the 4G feature phone was supposed to go back to its regular pricing after October 27th, the offer has been extended for one more month. And like last month, buyers won’t have to exchange any old Jio Phone unit to get the Jio Phone at Rs 699. The company is also offering Rs 99 worth of additional data on the first seven recharges that the user purchases. So, if you were planning on getting the Jio Phone, this sure seems like the right time.
Jio says that it saw “unprecedented record demand” for the Jio Phone in the last three weeks, leading it to extending the offer beyond its planned end. Unlike most feature phones, the Jio Phone has support for a wide range of apps such as Jio TV, Whatsapp, Facebook, Jio Cinema, Jio News, and Jio Music. Jio Phone currently has a market share of eight crores. The feature phone comes with a 2.4-inch display, powered by a 1GHz processor coupled with 512 MB RAM. It packs a 2,000mAh battery.
Jio Phone comes with an alphanumeric keypad, 4-way navigation key, and microSD slot for storage expansion. There is also a rear camera, flashlight, FM radio, and has support for 22 major Indian languages and voice commands. Interestingly, Jio Phone also has NFC support for tap-and-pay payments. It is integrated with X5 LTE Global Mode modem for VoLTE and multimode dual SIM.
