1. Sacred Games (2018)

One of the first Indian Netflix original series to premiere on the platform, the dark and gritty crime drama focused on Saif Ali Khan’s Sartaj Singh, a cop. After receiving a perplexing phone call from the dreaded gangster Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), Sartaj is sent around the city on an agonising cat-and-mouse chase. 2. The Romantics (2023)

6. Hostages

Delhi Crime is a political crime thriller with a couple of seasons. The series follows the investigation led by Deputy Commissioner of Delhi Police Vartika Chaturvedi, as she works to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice. The Delhi Crime season 2 is based on the chapter Moon Gazer from former Delhi Police officer Neeraj Kumar’s book Khaki Files, which revolves around the kaccha-baniyan gang of the 1990s.

Based on a true story yet again, Jamtara is a crime thriller that brings the real-life phishing scams rampant in the Indian village of Jamtara in Jharkhand, to the silver screen with drama. The series follows a group of young con artists who run a phishing operation in the village along with the local politicians and police who try to shut them down. You get a fast-paced storyline as politics merges with fraud while a bunch of youngsters are out to make a quick buck.
