The Moto G77 Power (review) is now available in India for Rs 18,999. Interestingly, this price is for the base 4GB RAM variant, which wasn’t announced at launch in July. The smartphone was initially introduced only in an 8GB RAM variant, priced at Rs 25,999. This variant is currently available on Flipkart with a flat discount of Rs 1,000, bringing its effective price down to Rs 24,999. Key Moto G77 Power specs include a large 7,000mAh battery, a 50MP primary camera, and a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 SoC.
The Moto G77 Power sports a 6.72-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,050 nits of brightness. While the display specifications are fairly standard for this segment, the Full HD+ resolution gives it an edge over phones with HD+ panels, delivering sharper text and crisper visuals. At its core lies the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 SoC, which brings the performance of the device on par with other smartphones in the segment. However, the 4GB RAM on the phone could limit multitasking and demanding workloads.
If you are looking for a phone beyond basic use cases, it is better to go for the phone’s higher RAM variant and look for alternatives such as the Tecno Spark 50s and AI+ Nova 2 Power, which are equipped with 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM, respectively.
In terms of optics, the Moto G77 Power features a dual rear camera setup comprising a 50MP LYTIA-600 primary sensor (1/2-inch) and an 8MP ultrawide lens. The inclusion of an ultrawide camera gives it an edge over several rivals in this segment, where the secondary sensor has become increasingly rare. The front camera is a 32MP sensor in the punch-hole setup.
Moreover, the Moto G77 Power houses a 7,000mAh battery, a capacity that has seemingly become standard in this segment. The handset should comfortably last more than a day on regular usage. However, its 30W wired charging support is on the slower side. Software-wise, the handset runs Android 16-based HelloUI out of the box. You get near-stock Android apps, with nifty Moto gestures and more. While it is set to receive 3 years of security updates, one major OS upgrade could be a deal-breaker for some who want to keep using the phone for a long time with the latest features.
Overall, the Moto G77 Power is a capable buy for its cameras under Rs 20,000. The battery and sharp display resolution are just the cherry on top. If that’s where your priorities lie, the handset is worth considering.
