Nothing Phone (2) vs iQOO Neo 7 Pro: performance, battery, and software

Both the phones come with the same Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset with UFS 3.1 storage and LPDRR5 RAM standards, however, the iQOO Neo 7 Pro focuses more on performance with an independent gaming chip, X-axis linear motor, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and a 3D cooling system.

iQOO Neo 7 Pro also features a bigger 5,000mAh battery but an LTPO display in the Phone (2) should ensure better efficiency with 4,700mAh as it brings down the display refresh to 1Hz from 120Hz. The display on the latter is also brighter with a peak brightness of 1,600 nits while the former comes with a 2,160 PWM value for a flicker-free experience.

iQOO is promising a 0-50% charge in 8 minutes with the in-box 120W fast charger. Nothing Phone (2) USB-PD charger has to be bought separately and can fully charge your phone in 55 minutes. The Phone (2) also features 15W wireless and 5W reverse wireless charging which the Neo 7 Pro lacks.

When it comes to software support, the Nothing Phone (2) comes with bloatware-free Nothing OS 2.0 and the brand is providing 3 years of Android updates in addition to 4 years of security patches. iQOO has not made any similar claims.

Nothing Phone (2) vs iQOO Neo 7 Pro: build and camera setup

Nothing Phone (2) is slightly heavier at 201.2g due to a glass and metal build with an IP54 rating while the iQOO Neo 7 Pro has a vegan leather or fully plastic design. Both phones feature an optical fingerprint sensor. The Phone (2) comes with a glyph lightning interface at the back with 33 individually addressable LED zones and NFC support.

Both phones are 5G enabled but the Phone (2) comes with 19 5G bands as compared to 8 bands on the iQOO Neo 7 Pro.

When it comes to the camera setup, the Phone (2) features a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor and a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 ultra-wide camera. The iQOO Neo 7 Pro on the other hand features 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN5 main sensor and lower resolution 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro sensors. Both phones have Optical Image Stabilisation and 4K/60FPS video recording support at the back.

The Phone (2) features a 32MP front camera with support for 1080P/30FPS video recording and the Neo 7 Pro features a 16MP sensor.
