ChatGPT shortcut for Nothing Phone users
With the ChatGPT shortcut, Nothing Phone (1) and Phone (2) users will be able to easily access the voice assistant. This feature would be similar to using Google Assistant or Siri for voice commands. So if you have the Nothing Phone (1) or Phone (2), and want to use ChatGPT, here’s what you need to do:
- Download and install the ChatGPT app from the Google Play Store.
- Make sure to use the voice chat feature on ChatGPT at least once.
- You can then add the ChatGPT shortcut to the Quick Settings panel or the Quick Settings widget.
- Now tap on the ChatGPT shortcut icon, and it will trigger the voice assistant.
- Once it’s activated, you can ask questions or give prompts to ChatGPT.
This feature was first spotted in beta by Mishaal Rahman last week who shared the details on X. Here, the feature was seen as a ChatGPT voice shortcut for all Android devices. But for now it looks like only Nothing Phone users can enable it on their devices.
While this creates an easy access shortcut to use ChatGPT as a voice assistant, it doesn’t replace the default one on your phone. So you won’t be able to trigger it by long pressing the home button or power button, as confirmed by Rahman.
Nothing is also preparing to launch a new smartphone soon. It has already teased the new device but hasn’t revealed any details yet. There have been leaks though, about a Nothing Phone (2a) that’s expected to be a more affordable offering from the brand. It would be a toned-down version of the flagship Nothing Phone (2).
