Samsung has started rolling out the official One UI 9.0 update for the Galaxy S26 series. The beta program was launched in May this year, and now the stable release has been made available. The latest One UI 9.0 update is based on Android 17 and comes with subtle visual changes and improvements. The Galaxy Z Fold8 series launched as the first Samsung devices with One UI 9 out of the box. The recently launched Galaxy S26 FE also comes with the same software version.

The stable One UI 9.0 update with firmware version S94xNKSU4BZ16 has started rolling out to the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra in South Korea. The latest update brings the September 2026 security patch to the Galaxy S26 series.
One UI 9 brings small but useful changes to Samsung phones. The music player now shows the music wavelength, which appears in the Now Bar. You can expand it to see a bigger version of it with the same visual changes. One UI 9 also shows a smoother transition during instances like tapping the search bar within the app drawer, opening folders, and selecting the widgets picker menu.
Samsung has also added more customisation by allowing users to resize the toggles in the quick settings panel. The media player, which is small by default, can now be expanded and resized according to your preference. Another notable change is the brightness and volume sliders, which are thicker now for easier scrolling. While One UI 9 doesn’t reinvent the wheel, its focus on refining core interactions, like the smoother transitions and more intuitive sliders, demonstrates Samsung’s commitment to user experience polish.
Galaxy S26 users in South Korea should be able to update their devices to One UI 9 now. The update should arrive through a notification, and if you have auto-downloads turned on, then it should be automatically downloaded on your phone. Since Samsung has started rolling out the update, we expect it to reach more Galaxy S26 users in more countries, including India.
