After Motorola cancelled its Moto X30 Pro and Moto Razr 2022 launch event, OnePlus has today postponed its China OnePlus Ace Pro launch event. Like Motorola, OnePlus announced this last-moment cancellation via a Weibo post, where the company said, “We are very sorry that the OnePlus Ace Pro new product launch conference and recent related activities have been postponed for some reason, and follow-up plans will be announced separately.”

While the company said the China launch event of the OnePlus Ace Pro would be rescheduled, we believe the global launch of the same – as the OnePlus 10T 5G – is unaffected, at least till the brand announces the cancellation.

Why are China launch events getting cancelled?

While both brands – OnePlus and Motorola – didn’t disclose the reason for their last-moment cancellation of the launch event, its likely happened because Nancy Patricia Pelosi, speaker of the United States House of Representatives and the second in line to US Presidency, arrived in Taiwan on the evening of August 2nd, sparking political tensions with China. Pelosi is known for vocally criticising China’s policies, and China is not happy about the US politician visiting Taiwan. Chinese authorities are reportedly planning military drills in response to the diplomatic event.

The OnePlus Ace Pro is scheduled to launch in the international market (Including India) with a different name, the OnePlus 10T 5G.
