Earlier this week, it was leaked that OnePlus is planning to launch a new budget smartphone series in India. The OnePlus N series has now been officially teased in India. This new lineup reportedly features an entirely new range of smartphones targeting the budget category. At present, the OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite is the most affordable offering from the brand, with a starting price of Rs 22,999.
OnePlus N series India launch teased
OnePlus has released a dedicated microsite on Amazon teasing its new N series. The teaser image includes the letter ‘N’ portrayed with OnePlus smartphones. No other detail has been revealed in the teaser, but we expect OnePlus to gradually reveal additional information. The announcement comes shortly after it was tipped that OnePlus will launch a new budget smartphone series in India under the ‘N’ branding.

OnePlus N smartphone series: what to expect
According to the report, the OnePlus N series is set to launch in India this July. With the teaser already out, it shouldn’t be long now. The new OnePlus N series will reportedly include phones under Rs 20,000. This would mean that we’ll soon get budget phones from OnePlus, an area it hasn’t explored for a long time.
OnePlus currently offers the Nord CE6 Lite as its most affordable smartphone with a starting price of Rs 22,999. If it does launch phones under Rs 20,000, it would give budget buyers an option to experience OnePlus hardware and OxygenOS, which is generally considered one of the more refined Android UIs. OnePlus would be entering a competitive price segment, though, as there are already good options from longtime players like Xiaomi, Lava, and iQOO.
This would be a good time to wait for the OnePlus N series and see what it has in store for the budget segment. If you’ve been waiting for a budget option from OnePlus, the N series could be worth waiting for. We should still see how the phones compare to rivals, though, and if they indeed give the best value. Budget phones tend to compromise on certain key areas, so we’ll have to wait and see what OnePlus has in store for buyers.
