OnePlus has been rumoured to launch its first foldable phone next month on October 19th and while the phone’s renders, pricing, and specifications have been part of the leaks for some time, now we have got a real-life glimpse of the handset as well. In what seems like a staged leak, Indian actress Anushka Sharma was spotted by paparazzi holding a foldable phone with a circular camera cutout at the back, identical to the leaked OnePlus Open renders. If you’re wondering why we are saying that it might be a staged leak, have a look at the video below (shared by Viral Bhayani) where the actress can be seen holding the phone and unfolding it towards the paparazzi quite deliberately but in a rather awkward manner.
OnePlus Open price in India (tipped)
The OnePlus Open has been tipped to be priced between Rs 1,10,000 and Rs 1,20,000 in India. Considering that Samsung’s current Galaxy Fold flagship, i.e. Galaxy Z Fold5 starts at R 1,54,999 in India, this phone could prove to be an affordable alternative to the same as it would offer a flagship chipset and hardware too.
OnePlus Open specifications (expected)
- Display: OnePlus Open is expected to feature a 7.8-inch AMOLED 2K display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The cover display is said to be a 6.3-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.
- Processor: The handset has been tipped to be powered by the top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with Adreno GPU.
- RAM and storage: OnePlus Open will likely offer up to 16GB RAM and 256GB storage.
- OS: OxygenOS 13.1 with Android 13 OS out-of-the-box.
- Cameras: There could be triple camera sensors on the back of the handset, with a 48MP primary sensor, a 48MP secondary shooter, and a 64MP lens. The OnePlus Open could have 32MP and 20MP front cameras on the front.
- Battery: 4,800mAh battery with 100W fast charging support.
