Update: After falsely marketing UFS 4.0 storage on the OnePlus 12R, which in fact uses UFS 3.1 storage, OnePlus does it again. After announcing its partnership with Google to bring Gemini 1.0 Ultra to its devices later this year, the company has issued a statement saying that this was a “mistake.” In a fresh statement, OnePlus hasn’t committed to whether it will be bringing Gemini Ultra but only mentioned that “Gemini Models” are coming to its devices. There’s no mention of a Nano, Pro or Ultra.

The press release mistakenly mentioned the debut of the “Gemini Ultra Large Model” on smartphones. The correct information is that Google and OnePlus have teamed up to introduce the “Gemini Models” on smartphones, which promise to bring revolutionary AI experiences to mobile devices,” OnePlus said in a statement to Financial Express.

OnePlus and OPPO have announced that they will integrate Google’s AI models into their devices. The brands also aim to be the first to launch features based on the Gemini AI platform on smartphones later this year. Gemini AI features on smartphones are claimed to completely change the way users interact with their devices. 

OnePlus and OPPO to integrate Google Gemini 1.0

  • Nicole Zhang, General Manager of AI Products for OnePlus and OPPO announced that the companies have launched multiple Generative AI models for customers in China.
  • This will allow more than ten million users of flagship phones like the OPPO Find X7 and OnePlus 12 to use AI-generated content on the go.

  • OPPO and OnePlus also confirmed they will work to build the perfect mix of hardware, operating system, and ecosystem to “help AI flourish.”
  • The brands also mentioned that they are working with a range of partners to deliver groundbreaking AI experiences to users. This also includes the AI Eraser, which was introduced recently
  • AI Eraser has already been launched with a group of OPPO and OnePlus beta testers, with testers using AI Eraser on average 15 times a day.

Besides AI Eraser, OPPO and OnePlus are claimed to be working with Google to incorporate other Cloud AI products in their upcoming releases. These may include generating new social media content, summarising news articles, summarising audio and more. For the next three to five years, both OnePlus and OPPO plan to launch more than one hundred AIGC experiences.
