“The OPPO A1K and A5s are now available starting at Rs 7,990 and Rs 8,990, respectively”
Earlier in April, OPPO expanded its range of ‘A’ series smartphones in India with the launch of the OPPO A1K and A5s. Both the handsets arrived as pocket-friendly offerings with a waterdrop notch above the screen. The OPPO A1K was launched for Rs 8,490, while the OPPO A5s was introduced at the starting price of Rs 9,990. Now just two months after the launch, the company has permanently dropped the pricing of both the handsets by up to Rs 1,000.
As per our retail chain sources, the OPPO A1K is now available for Rs 7,990 with a price drop of Rs 500. The OPPO A5s is being offered in 2GB and 3GB RAM variants, which are now retailing for Rs 8,990 and Rs 9,990 respectively after a price cut of Rs 1,000. Both the smartphones are available at the reduced pricing in major brick and mortar stores across the country. However, e-commerce portals are still selling them at their original prices.
To recall the specs, the OPPO A1K features a 6.1-inch display bearing a resolution of 1,560 x 720 pixels and a pixel density of 282ppi. The phone is powered by a MediaTek MT6762R processor, aided by 2GB of RAM and IMG GE8320 graphics. The handset comes with 32GB of expandable storage, and boots ColorOS 6 based on Android 9 Pie out of the box. The camera features include an 8-megapixel primary snapper with an LED flash at the rear and a 5-megapixel shooter on the front. The 4G LTE-enabled offering is fuelled by a beefy 4,000mAh battery.
As for the OPPO A5s, the phone gets a slightly bigger 6.2-inch HD+ display, and boots the dated ColorOS 5.2 that’s based on Android 8.1 Oreo. This one packs in a MediaTek MT6765 processor, aided by up to 3GB of RAM, IMG GE8320 graphics, and 32GB of storage. For imaging, you get a dual 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel camera setup at the rear and an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. The company has loaded the handset with a beefy 4,230mAh battery. A rear-mounted fingerprint sensor completes the list of the specs.
