“OPPO VP Brian Shen has revealed the OPPO Ace 2 launch date on Weibo”
The rumoured OPPO Reno Ace 2 will apparently be called the OPPO Ace 2, according to OPPO VP Brian Shen. The OPPO executive revealed on Weibo that the OPPO Ace 2 will launch on April 13th in China. It seems the phone will be part of a new Ace series instead of the Reno series as previously speculated. The phone has been all over the news for the past couple of weeks when a live image of the handset surfaced online and its key specifications were revealed via the TENAA certification. The Weibo post by Shen suggests the executive is already using the OPPO Ace 2 and it will have 5G connectivity. However, he hasn’t revealed anything about the handset at the moment.
OPPO Ace 2 specifications
The OPPO Ace 2 will have a punch-hole design to accommodate the selfie camera at the top left corner and it has slim bezels across all corners. It has quad cameras arranged in the circular module at the back. Reports suggest the OPPO Ace 2 will sport a 6.5-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. It is said to measure 160 x 75.4 x 8.6 mm and weigh 185 grams. The flagship is tipped to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC coupled with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Ace 2 is likely to boot Android 10 OS with ColorOS 7 custom skin.
The OPPO Ace 2 is said to have dual batteries, one of which is a 1,955mAh unit assisted by the 65W fast-charging. OPPO is said to be planning on creating a gaming-centric smartphone series under the Ace-series, while its Reno smartphones will continue to focus on providing flagship camera experience.
