OPPO PCLM50 specs revealed through TENAA listing, might launch soon

“The OPPO PCLM50 is expected to be a new entrant in the OPPO Reno smartphone lineup, expanding on the recently launched Reno3 devices.”

OPPO seems close to launching a new smartphone, which has been spotted on TENAA with production model name OPPO PCLM50. The smartphone, according to the TENAA listing, has upper mid-range specifications that peg it in the premium segment of smartphones, and will seemingly come with 5G connectivity as well. As a result, it is unlikely that the device will launch in India right away, although a launch at a later date cannot be entirely ruled out. The OPPO PCLM50’s specifications appear in line with the recently launched Reno 3 lineup of smartphones, which works as a premium segment sub-brand of OPPO.

According to the TENAA listing, the OPPO PCLM50 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor, which GizmoChina states may be the Snapdragon 765G 5G chipset. The device is expected to feature only one RAM variant, with 8GB of RAM onboard. In terms of native storage options, the OPPO PCLM50 will seemingly come with 128GB and 256GB of storage, and it is not clear if it will also feature an expandable storage slot for installing microSD cards. The OPPO PCLM50 further appears to house a 6.4-inch AMOLED display, with a screen resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. This pegs the display at 20:9 aspect ratio, but it is not clear if the device will feature a notch on the display, or a punch-hole cutout, or a pop-out mechanism to house the front camera.

In terms of cameras, the OPPO PCLM50 is expected to feature a quad rear camera layout, powered by a 48-megapixel primary rear sensor. The secondary sensor is said to be an 8-megapixel one, which could either be a telephoto unit, or even an ultra-wide-angle unit. These two are combined with a pair of 2-megapixel sensors, which does not clarify whether this will be similar to the OPPO Reno3’s 2-megapixel black and white and retro portrait sensors, or house variations such as one portrait assistance sensor and one for dedicated macro photography. To the front, the OPPO PCLM50 is expected to house a 32-megapixel image sensor.

The OPPO PCLM50 is also said to feature a 3,935mAh battery, which might be marketed as a 4,000mAh battery pack in terms of rated capacity. The listing further reveals that the device may be 7.96mm thick, and weigh 180 grams. It will ship with Android 10 out of the box, with OPPO’s own ColorOS 7 custom interface on top. In terms of 5G performance, the OPPO PCLM50 will reportedly feature both SA and NSA-mode 5G, with support for Band 41 and Band 78. However, there does not appear to be support for 5G Band 79 for the smartphone.

Given the extensive leak, it is possible that the OPPO PCLM50 will be launched soon in eligible markets, with China being the frontrunner of the launch region.
