OPPO Reno 15 could launch as a compact phone with a 6.32-inch display

Highlights
  • OPPO Reno 15 will feature a smaller screen than the Reno 14 (6.59-inch).
  • It was rumoured that there could be a Reno 15 Mini.
  • However, the Reno 15 could launch as the compact model.

OPPO is set to unveil its Reno 15 series on November 17th in China. Ahead of that, a new China Telecom listing suggests the standard Reno 15 could arrive as a compact phone, potentially replacing the previously rumoured “Reno 15 Mini.” The discovery suggests that OPPO is following a similar strategy to Vivo did recently by launching the X300 as a compact smartphone. It also adds to the growing trend of compact phones as more brands adopt this form factor.

A listing on China Telecom for an upcoming OPPO device bearing the model number PLW110 has surfaced, revealing what is likely the vanilla Reno 15. While the listing doesn’t explicitly mention the name, the specifications align with earlier leaks and position the device clearly as a compact offering. The phone appears to feature a 6.32-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2640 × 1216 pixels), a size significantly smaller than the Reno 14 (6.59-inch).

This development is notable because earlier leaks had suggested OPPO was working on a Reno 15 Mini, but the new details indicate that it may instead be branding the compact model as the main Reno 15, consolidating its lineup rather than adding another model to the lineup.

According to the listing, the Reno 15 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity MT6899, which is believed to correspond to the Dimensity 8450 chipset. Storage and RAM options for the Reno 15 are up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, but this could vary depending on the market.

For imaging, the Reno 15 is listed with a 50MP front camera, along with a 200MP + 50MP + 50MP triple rear camera setup, a major upgrade over the Reno 14’s 50MP + 8MP + 50MP setup. The phone will most likely ship with Android 16 layered with the latest ColorOS 16.

Another highlight is the battery: the Reno 15 reportedly houses a 6,200mAh cell, which would mean a minimal increase from the Reno 14’s 6,000mAh unit. While charging speeds aren’t explicitly confirmed, it is expected to support 80W wired and 50W wireless charging, similar to the Reno 14 series. The listing also points to NFC support, an aluminium alloy frame, and a design that measures 151.21 × 72.42 × 7.99mm while weighing 187g.

Colour options mentioned include Aurora Blue, Starlight Bow, Canele Brown, and Star Pink. OPPO has already revealed the phone’s design, and it continues to embody a stylish look.

Alongside the standard model, reports indicate that the Reno 15 Pro will feature a larger 6.78-inch display, the Dimensity 8450, and a slightly bigger 6,300mAh battery, while maintaining largely similar core specs. A third Reno 15–series device with a 6.59-inch display has also been rumoured, though its official name remains unclear.

With OPPO embracing the compact form factor for the Reno 15, the device could attract buyers looking for a smaller, more ergonomic smartphone without compromising on flagship-grade features. If launched in India, the Reno 14 would also sit in a more affordable price segment than other compact phones like the Vivo X200 FE and OnePlus 13s. The Reno 14 launched at a starting price of Rs 37,999, and its successor is also expected to be priced around the same. OPPO is expected to bring the Reno 15 series to India by the end of this year or early next year. With its compact form factor and upgraded cameras, the Reno 15 is shaping up to be well worth the wait.

The full picture will come into focus when OPPO officially launches the Reno 15 series on November 17th in China.
