OPPO Reno 16: what’s on offer?
With the OPPO Reno 16, you get a 6.32-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,600 nits of peak brightness. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset powers it and packs a large 6,700mAh battery with 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging support. The handset has a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom. Up front is a 50MP camera for selfies.

The Reno 16 offers a well-rounded package for a premium mid-range phone. It features a premium and compact design, strong cameras that maintain natural colours and detail, and reliable battery life. You also get a customisable software with AI features and long-term software support (5+6). OPPO’s Reno lineup has primarily focused on offering a stylish and premium design with versatile cameras.
If performance is a priority, alternatives like the Vivo X200T and Motorola Signature are better options, and phones like the OnePlus 15R and iQOO 15R offer larger batteries. As for those who own a Reno 14, the camera and battery upgrades might justify the jump, but Reno 15 users might consider waiting for the Reno 17.
OPPO Reno 16c: should you buy?
The Reno 16c shares several similarities with the Reno 16. Its key difference is the screen size, which is a bigger 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh and 1,400 nits of peak brightness. The chipset is also different as the Reno 16c is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset. It, however, has a slightly larger 7,000mAh battery with 80W SUPERVOOC charging support.

Starting at Rs 46,999, the OPPO Reno16c nails daily essentials with a stylish build, solid battery life, smooth ColorOS, and a rare telephoto lens. However, it faces stiff competition from the more balanced Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ and the performance-focused Nothing Phone 4a Pro, making it a specialised choice rather than a versatile all-rounder. If premium design, a telephoto lens, and customisable software are your priorities, then the Reno 16c is recommended.

The OPPO Bubble is a camera accessory that works as a viewfinder for the rear cameras. You can stick it on the back of the phone or use it as a bag charm. It has a 1.73-inch AMOLED circular screen with camera control and features like setting custom wallpapers. The OPPO Bubble’s advantage is that you can use it to easily control and use the rear cameras for selfies, and it also doubles as a cute accessory. The OPPO Bubble also works with phones from other brands, which gives OPPO an advantage, at least as far as the accessory ecosystem is concerned.
