Top phones launched in February 2024: iQOO Neo 9 Pro, Honor X9b, and more

February was not as eventful as January when it came to smartphone launches, but it did bring with it some surprises. Some major brands, such as Xiaomi, Honor, and iQOO held their smartphone launches in February, along with a few budget launches from Motorola, Tecno, and Vivo. iQOO Neo 9 Pro

  • Launch Date: February 22nd, 2024.

  • Display: The iQOO Neo 9 Pro features a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz for gaming and 3,000 nits of peak brightness. 
  • Processor: The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor paired with the Adreno 740 GPU.
  • RAM and storage: It comes in two variants with 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. You also get 8GB and 12GB of extended RAM on both variants.
  • Rear camera: iQOO Neo 9 Pro has a dual camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX920 primary camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide camera.
  • Front camera: There’s a 16MP front camera for selfies. 
  • Software: On the software front, the iQOO Neo 9 Pro runs on Funtouch OS 14 with Android 14 out-of-the-box.
  • Battery, charging: The smartphone packs a 5,160mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.

Honor X9b

  • Launch Date: February 15th, 2024.

  • Display: The Honor X9b features a 6.78-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED display with 1200 nits of peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate. Honor claims this is an anti-drop display with 360-degree protection around the device. 
  • Processor: The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor paired with Adreno 710 GPU. 
  • RAM and storage: It packs 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage, along with 8GB of Turbo RAM for additional performance. 
  • Cameras: Honor X9b sports a triple camera setup at the back with a 108MP primary sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 2MP macro sensor.
  • Front camera: You also get a 16MP front camera for selfies. 
  • Software: On the software front, the Honor X9b runs MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13 out-of-the-box. 
  • Battery, charging: It packs a 5,800mAh battery with 35W fast charging support. 

Tecno POVA 6 Pro

  • Launch Date: February 27th, 2024.

  • Display: The Tecno POVA 6 Pro sports a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 2436 ×1080 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 2160Hz high-frequency dimming, and TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification.
  • Processor: The MediaTek Dimensity 6080 6nm processor with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU powers the POVA 6 Pro.
  • RAM and storage: The chipset is paired with up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB internal storage, with support for expansion via a microSD card. There’s support for up to 12GB of virtual RAM.
  • Rear camera: The Tecno POVA 6 Pro features a 108MP primary camera with an LED flash, a 2MP and an AI lens.
  • Front camera: There is a 32MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats.
  • Software: The Tecno POVA 6 Pro boots Android 14-based HiOS 14 out of the box.
  • Battery: A 6,000mAh battery with 70W fast charging support powers the smartphone. 

Honor Magic 6 Pro

  • Launch Date: February 25th, 2024.

  • Display: The Honor Magic 6 Pro features a 6.8-inch Full HD+ curved OLED display with an adaptive refresh rate ranging up to 120Hz. The display has a 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut and comes with HDR10+ support for HD content streaming.
  • The smartphone claims 5,000 nits of peak HDR brightness, which is one of the highest brightness levels available on a smartphone display. 
  • Chipset: The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, coupled with an Adreno 750 GPU powers the smartphone.
  • RAM and Storage: The smartphone comes with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM with 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. 
  • Rear cameras: The Honor Magic 6 Pro features a triple rear camera setup, with a 50MP wide-angle camera with a variable aperture of f/1.4 to f/2.0, a 180MP 2.5x OIS periscope camera, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with autofocus.
  • Selfie camera: The Magic 6 Pro houses a 50MP wide-angle camera and a 3D depth sensor on the front.
  • Software: The Honor Magic 6 Pro runs on MagicOS 8.0, based on Android 14.
  • Battery: The smartphone comes with a new silicon-carbon-based 5,600mAh battery that supports 80W wired charging and 66W wireless charging.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra
