POCO M4 Pro 5G launched in India last week as the brand’s newest affordable mid-range phone. The device comes with a 90Hz FHD+ display, a 50MP primary camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. On the other hand, Vivo T1 5G debuted on January 5th in India. The handset features a 6.58-inch display, Snapdragon 695, a 5000mAh battery, Android 11 OS, and a 50MP primary camera. Both smartphones are available for under Rs 15,999. In this article, we will be comparing the POCO M4 Pro 5G with the Vivo T1 5G (review) to find out which is the better option.

POCO M4 Pro 5G vs Vivo T1 5G: price in India

The POCO M4 Pro 5G and Vivo T1 5G comes in three storage options 4GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB, and 8GB/128GB unit. The M4 Pro 5G is available in three colour options – Power Black, Cool Blue, and POCO Yellow. At the same time, the Vivo T1 5G is available in two colour options – Starlight Balck and Rainbow Fanty. The POCO M4 Pro 5G starts at Rs 14,999 while the Vivo T1 comes in at Rs 15,990. Design

Vivo T1 5G design
The Vivo T1 5G has a boxy design with flat edges and a plastic back. The device has a square camera bump at the back and Vivo branding. The handset houses a volume rocker paired with a fingerprint sensor embedded underneath the power button. It has a speaker grille, USB Type-C port, microphone, and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom. Vivo T1 has a waterdrop notch display with thick bezels on the front.

The POCO M4 Pro 5G has curved sides with rounded edges and a plastic back. The smartphone has a rectangular dual-camera island that houses a square primary cutout paired with another square module for a secondary camera unit and LED flashlight on the left and POCO branding on the right. The phone houses a power button that doubles up as a fingerprint scanner paired with volume rockers on the left. It has a speaker grille, microphone, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom. POCO M4 Pro has a centred punch-hole cutout with thin bezels on the front. 

Processor, storage, and RAM

POCO M4 Pro 5G comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G chipset paired with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. Whereas, the Vivo T1 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor paired with an Adreno 619 GPU. Both devices come in three storage options – 4GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB, and 8GB/128GB unit. 

The performance of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor is slightly better than MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset in terms of benchmarks. However, users won’t notice much difference in real-life day to day usage.

POCO M4 Pro 5G flaunts a 6.6-inch Full-HD+ IPS LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate, 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution, 399 PPI, and a punch-hole cutout. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Vivo T1 5G display
On the other hand, Vivo T1 comes with a 6.7-inch Full-HD+ IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution, 395 PPI, and a waterdrop notch.

Cameras

POCO M4 Pro Camera
The POCO M4 Pro comes with a dual-camera setup at the back, including a 50MP f/1.8 primary camera and an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide lens, which is capable of shooting 1080p HD videos up to 60fps. It has a 16MP f/2.5 camera on the front that shoots selfies and videos at Full HD 1080p at 30fps. 

Vivo T1 5G camera
Vivo T1 5G houses a triple camera setup at the back featuring a 50MP f/1.8 primary camera, a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor, and a 2MP f/2.4 macro sensor, which is capable of shooting 1080p HD videos but limited to only 30fps. It has a 16MP f/2.0 camera on the front for selfies and videos that are captured at 1080p Full HD at 30fps. 

Battery

Both Poco M4 Pro and Vivo T1 pack a 5,000mAh battery that can easily last a full day of moderate usage. The T1 5G comes with an 18W charger. Whereas, the M4 Pro comes with a 33W fast charger that is claimed to fully charge the device in 59 minutes. 

Connectivity

In terms of connectivity, both come with similar connectivity features, including 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C port for charging. Both boot Android 11 out of the box. POCO runs MIUI 12.5 skin, and Vivo runs Funtouch 12 skin on top.

POCO M4 Pro 5G vs Vivo T1 5G: verdict

The POCO M4 Pro 5G offers a better camera and faster-charging support than Vivo T1 5G. On the other hand, Vivo T1 provides a better and faster processor and display than POCO M4 Pro 5G. Overall, if you want better performance, Vivo T1 5G is a stealer deal, and if you want a better camera, POCO M4 Pro 5G is for you.

Both phones provide decent performance with different benefits, but you shouldn’t have any difficulty choosing between them.
