POCO is reportedly in the works to launch a new POCO M5 lineup of smartphones. The POCO M5 series, including the POCO M5 and the POCO M5s, has been making the rounds on several certification authority websites lately, and the vanilla POCO M5 has now been spotted on the Indian BIS certification website, which hints that the device (or the entire series) is likely to make its way to India pretty soon now.
POCO M5 listed on Indian BIS
Spotted by tipster Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings), the POCO M5 (with the model number 22071219CI) has been spotted on the Indian BIS certification website. Though the BIS listing does not guarantee a launch, it still means that the path for the device’s launch in India is somewhat cleared, so we can expect POCO to unveil its POCO M5 soon in India.
POCO M5 specifications (expected)
The POCO M5 will be a 4G device, as per previous reports. The device will likely come with support for NFC. In terms of software, we can expect the POCO M5 to boot Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box. Under the hood, the POCO M5 is expected to come powered by a MediaTek 4G processor, which will likely be paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage.
In terms of cameras, we can expect the POCO M5 to feature a 50MP triple rear camera setup and an 8MP selfie snapper. Lastly, the POCO M5 could come with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging over a USB Type-C charging port.
