The Realme 8 series launched in India yesterday and the lineup includes the Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro. However, according to a new report from Financial Express, the Realme 8 series will soon include two more devices. These two devices are going to be the Realme 8 5G and the Realme 8i. The news was revealed by Madhav Sheth, Vice President and CEO of Realme India and Europe, in an interview with the publication on the sidelines of the Realme 8 series launch. Unfortunately, Realme 8 5G and Realme 8i specifications have not been officially revealed.

Realme 8 5G and Realme 8i India launch confirmed

“We will have a Realme 8 5G version soon (but not so early),” Madhav Sheth told The Financial Express. Sheth, however, did not provide any time frame regarding the Realme 8 5G launch date. The Realme India CEO added, “we have to understand that adding 5G with these features will incur additional costs.” The publication speculates that the Realme 8 5G price in India will be between Realme 8 and the Realme 8 Pro prices, which are Rs 14,999 and Rs 17,999, respectively. If that is true, the Realme 8 5G could be one of the most affordable 5G phones in the Indian market.

The report, however, does not mentions any specifics about the Realme 8i. However, going by the name, it seems to be a toned-down version of Realme 8.

Realme GT might launch in India soon

Along with confirming the launch of the Realme 8 5G and the Realme 8i in the Indian market, Madhav reiterated that the brand is evaluating the Realme GT launch in India. “Realme GT is a very special high-end smartphone, a state-of-the-art tech piece from Realme. Given the specifications of the device, this is an expensive one and we are evaluating the release of this product in India,” he added.

The Realme GT launched in China recently, and it is currently the flagship phone from the brand. The Realme GT features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. The smartphone has a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It has 64MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro cameras at the rear, and a 16MP camera at the front. The phone is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. You also get stereo speakers, a 3.5mm audio jack, and 5G connectivity. The Realme GT 5G is available in 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB memory configurations in China.
