Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, and Redmi K40 Pro+ flagships have been launched in China, as promised. These will come as successors to Redmi K30 and K30 Pro smartphones. The new Redmi K40-series phones tout a small punch-hole display, a square-camera module, an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, and multiple colour options. Redmi K40 specifications include the Snapdragon 870 SoC, 48MP triple cameras, AMOLED display, and more. Redmi K40, K40 Pro, K40 Pro+ prices and availability

Redmi K40 price in China is set at CNY 1,999 (approx Rs 22,400) for the 6GB+128GB model, CNY 2,199 (approx Rs 24,700) for the 8GB+128GB option, CNY 2,499 (approx Rs 28.000) for the 8GB+256GB variant, and CNY 2,699 (approx Rs 30,000) for the 12GB+256GB model.

The Redmi K40 Pro starts at CNY 2,799 (approx Rs 31,500) for the 6GB+128GB variant. The 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB variants are priced at CNY 2,999 (approx Rs 33,700) and CNY 3,299 (approx Rs 37,100), respectively. The Redmi K40 Pro+ is priced at CNY 3,699 (approx Rs 41,600) for the sole 12GB+256GB model.

Redmi K40 specifications

The Redmi K40 sports a 6.67-inch E4 AMOLED FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch response, a tiny 2.76mm punch-hole cutout, and a 3.5mm slim bottom bezel. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage that will be further expandable via a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 11-based MIUI 12 custom skin out of the box. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and USB Type-C for charging and data transfer.

As for the cameras, the Redmi K40 comes equipped with a 48MP AI triple camera system at the back that includes a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 5MP macro lens. There is a 20MP camera on the front for selfies and video chats. The phone comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, a 4,520mAh battery, and 33W fast-charging support. The Redmi K40 measures 7.8mm in thickness and comes equipped with stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, High-Res audio, and IP53 for dust and water resistance.

The flagships are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC coupled with Adreno 660 GPU, up to 12GB RAM, and 512GB storage. Both the phones run on Android 11-based MIUI 12custom skin out of the box. They also come with a 4,520mAh battery and support 33W fast-charging. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and USB Type-C port.

Moving to optics, the Redmi K40 Pro gets a triple camera system that includes a 64MP primary camera, 8MP wide-angle lens, and 5MP macro lens. The Redmi K40 Pro+, on the other hand, touts a 108MP Samsung HM2 sensor alongside 8MP and 5MP cameras. There is a 20MP snapper on the front for selfies on both the phones as well as a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.
