Redmi Note 10 Pro Max

Redmi Note 10 Pro Max vs Redmi Note 9 Pro specifications

As mentioned earlier, the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max a number of hardware improvements over its predecessor. The chipset happens to be one of them, with the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G chipset. It is, for all intents and purposes, an incremental upgrade over the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G found on the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. Performance gains across both chips are insignificant, as low as 2% in some tests. Both SoCs come with the same Adreno 618 GPU. Lastly, the lack of 5G connectivity of the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is somewhat disappointing too.

Display

The Redmi Note 10 Pro Max undoubtedly features the best screen found on a sub-Rs 20,000 smartphone. Its 6.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel has a refresh rate of 120Hz, something that is usually found in phones that cost twice as much. A layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects the screen. Moving on to the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, we get the same 6.6-inch FHD+ screen, but with an IPS LCD panel. Its refresh rate is restricted to 60Hz, too. Other Redmi Note 10 Pro Max display features include 1200 nits peak brightness and HDR 10 support.

Camera

The Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is also the first of its kind to come with a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM2 camera sensor. Its predecessor uses a slightly older 64MP module in its place. The remaining camera setup remains pretty much identical across both devices, featuring an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 5MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor. Things get a little confusing when it comes to selfie cameras. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max features a 32MP module whereas the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max downgrades that to 16MP.

Redmi Note 10 Pro Max vs Redmi Note 9 Pro verdict

Both the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max house a 5,000mAh battery that supports charging at 33W. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor handles biometric authentication on both devices. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, IR blaster, self-cleaning speakers, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0. Based on the above data, we can conclude that the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max offers several key upgrades, especially in the cameras and display departments. The Redmi Note 10 Pro Max looks like a solid sub-Rs 20,000 phone, but you will have to shell out more for the device as compared to the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max.
