The Redmi Note 12 Pro series utilises the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC which is fabricated on TSMC’s 6nm process. The Redmi Note 12 Pro twins also get OLED displays, a triple camera setup, a 5,000mAh battery, and fast charging support.

Redmi Note 12 Pro twins spotted listed on the IMEI database

Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 12 series debuted in China last week and comprised five models – the Redmi Note 12, the Redmi Note 12 Pro, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+, and the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition and another Racing Edition. The Redmi Note 12 and the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ have now been spotted listed on the IMEI database in their global variant avatar. These new global variants are codenamed Ruby which is the same as their Chinese counterparts, indicating that the devices are likely to be the same.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro and the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ carry the model numbers 22101316G and 22101316UG as per the listing. The device model numbers too coincide with the Chinese variants. However, it is expected that the devices will be launched in India under Xiaomi’s banner.

Much like the Xiaomi 11i and Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge which were rebranded versions of the Chinese Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro+, the Indian market will receive a rebadged version of the Redmi Note 12 Pro twins. The Redmi Note 12 Pro and the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ are expected to be called the Xiaomi 12i and the Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge in India respectively.

Redmi Note 12 Pro, 12 Pro+ specifications

The Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ get the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC under the hood. They sport 120Hz OLED display panels with an FHD+ resolution. The display boasts 900nits of peak brightness, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision certification. They also house the fingerprint reader under the glass.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ get a triple camera setup with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro sensor each. The difference lies in the main camera sensor, where the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ gets a 200MP Samsung HMX sensor with OIS while the vanilla Redmi Note 12 Pro settles for a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS. Both devices get a 16MP front camera shooter.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ get 5000mAh batteries. The Redmi Note 12 Pro gets 67W fast charging while the Note 12 Pro+ gets even faster 120W fast charging support.
