Just last week, Samsung launched its first A-series smartphone with a nearly bezel-less Infinity Display in the form of theGalaxy A8+.And now the company is back with another new phone. If you recall, the Galaxy On7 Prime was listed on Amazon India recently, and now, as expected, the South Korean tech giant has revived its On Series with the launch ofthis smartphone in India.

The mid-range smartphone ships with a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, witha regular 16:9 aspect ratio. Driving the performance of the handset is an Exynos 7870 SoC with eight cores and 1.6GHz clock speed. Samsung is offering the handset in two variants viz. 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. Users can expand the storage onboard up to 256GB using a microSD card. The Galaxy On7 Prime comes with a premium all-metal unibody design and a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button.

Coming to the USP of the handset, the primary camera is a 13-megapixel shooter with an LED flash and an aperture of f/1.9. The larger aperture of thecamera means it takes in more light forbetter low light imaging. The front camera on the handset is a 13-megapixel unit as well. In terms of connectivity, you get 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and A-GPS. There is a 3,300mAh batteryinside the device, which comes with Samsung’s Ultra power saving mode.

As far as software is concerned, the handset runs Android Nougat and supports Samsung Pay Mini mobile payment feature. Samsung also introduced Samsung Mall, which lets users scan an object using the camera on the smartphone and shop similar products from e-commerce platforms including Amazon, Shopclues, Jabong and Tatacliq, with more portals to be added soon.

Samsung is offering the handset in two hues – Graphite Black and Champagne Gold. The device is exclusive to Amazon India and will set you back by Rs 12,990 for 32GB and Rs14,990 for the 64GB variant. The phone will go on sale starting January 20th during Amazon’s ‘Great Indian Sale’. Interested buyers can avail Rs 2,000 cashback via Jio Money, which makes the effective price of the base variant Rs 10,990, but there’s a catch. Buyers will need to make a minimum monthly recharge of Rs 299 on their Jio SIM to get this cashback.
