Samsung is bringing two key health features to its Galaxy Watch 6 series in India. A new update will be rolled out that will add blood pressure and electrocardiogram (ECG) tracking features to the latest Galaxy Watch 6 series. Samsung said that both features have been added after receiving regulatory clearances and certifications from India’s Central Drugs Standard Control Organization.
Galaxy Watch 6 series gets BP and ECG tracking in India
Galaxy Watch 6 users can download the latest software update for the BP and ECG features in India. These features will be available on the Samsung Health Monitor app that needs to be downloaded separately from the Galaxy Store.
How to check ECG on the Galaxy Watch 6
- Download the Samsung Health Monitor app on your phone and watch.
- Open the app, and calibrate your Galaxy Watch as instructed.
- Make sure your watch is strapped on properly then measure your blood pressure.
- You can then check and review your blood pressure measurements.
How to check ECG on Galaxy Watch
- Open the Samsung Health Monitor app on your Galaxy Watch, and make sure the watch is properly strapped.
- To take an ECG reading, you’ll have to rest your fingertip of the opposite hand lightly on the Galaxy Watch’s top button for 30 seconds.
- A PDF report will be created with your ECG levels on your smartphone.
Do note that these aren’t a 100 percent accurate, and you shouldn’t rely on these readings for any health-related assumption. It’s advisable to always consult a medical professional in case of emergency. But you can use these features to keep a check on your health regularly, and stay updated.
These features are arriving on the Galaxy Watch 6 first but Samsung said it will soon add them on the Galaxy Watch 4 and 5 series as well.
